Apparently yesterday i saw the movie 300%!
So i originally had no desire to see this! But then it came out and everybody was all "AHDJGJH BEST MOVIE EVER" and despite highly doubting that claim, it still made me want to see what all the hype was about and my bitter skepticism relented a bit. Peer pressure: it really works!
I wasn't really enjoying it when it started off, since it was basically all boring parts and does everything have to be so LOUD? I'm trying to drink my iced tea and do a crossword over here and i'm missing Magnum P.I. for this and i can't be adjusting my hearing aid every five seconds! But then they left Sparta and it was a lot of hot soldiers and brotherhood and the AWESOME FIGHTING OF AWESOMENESS started, and things really picked up.
I didn't use my brain ONCE the whole time! Literally all that was going through my head was "HOTASS BITCHES! AWESOMEAWESOMEAWESOME OH SHIT THAT WAS AWESOME. SHINY MAN MEAT." .........I think it turned me into a caveman. :( Or, you know when Beavis would get really excited about something? Like... all the time? That was me, i was Beavis. But anyway, they were all so beautiful and kicking serious ass and laughing in the face of danger! I am not even normally a huge fan of the beefcake business, but holy CHRIST. It's hard to maintain disinterest when there are statuesque beacons of perfection running around being awesome.
Honestly, i could have done without all the "MEANWHILE, back in Sparta!" and writhing semi-naked chicks. So, a movie that was basically all fighting to begin with, i am saying that i would have enjoyed it more if it were REALLY ALLLLLLLLLL FIGHTING straight on through. Haahahahhahaha, uhm! I mean, what i am trying to say is that the Band of Brothers stuff is all i cared about. Smokin' Leonidas and His Merry Band of Hotass Bitches.
I think... somewhere along the way... i lost a lot of brain cells.
Otherwise, i tend to have kind of an issue with the grainy, overprocessed, monochromatic look and everything being totally fake; it makes me think of lame fanart and, i dunno... general lameness. Unnatural lighting really bothers me a lot. But on the other hand, there was a good amount of prettiness and shots that were composed like paintings in a ridiculously epic manner and i am quite a big fan of epic stuff!
Is it just me, or...?
The Amazing Race
DANNY AND OSWALD QUOTING PROJECT RUNWAY!!! MY HEART.
Charla and Mirna coming in first again..................... not so good. Except that it brought us the most hilarious moment of ever. "Catamarans!" ".......Huh?" AHAHAHAHAH. And of course Oswald giving Charla "beauty tips"! "Actually it's more like first aid." YOU GUYS. I don't even know how Charla and Mirna are able to form words.
This leg was friggin' brutal with the time setbacks, there was just no catching up ever. I felt kind of bad for Eric and Danielle getting booted off the plane, but... it's Eric and Danielle. I didn't feel THAT bad.
Phil looked especially pretty at the Pit Stop in the morning! ESPECIALLY.
WHY DO I FORGET ABOUT BATTLESTAR GALACTICA EVERY FUCKING SUNDAY!?!??!?! WITHOUT FAIL. I'm an idiot. At least now i won't have that problem for a long, long while. :/
BSG
LOL. Hi Kara!!! I don't think it was obvious enough that when Lee started following an "Unknown" in the last minute of a season finale that it would turn out to be her. :| Nonetheless, it was good to see her again! Not having her around was totally strange. And i am SUPER glad she didn't return at the reins of a sparkling unicorn floating on a rainbow.
I was hoping the Cylon reveal would be more... exciting. It wasn't even like a REAL reveal! They just stood in a room humming and then said "welp, i guess we're cylons! okay see ya." Ha ha LAME. And if they are in fact the Final Four (which i will not believe until given actual proof), there's still one left, but i don't even really care enough to speculate because i'm sure it will be something ~~*~*~*SHOCKING**~~**~* just... like... this time. Hey, if Nicky and Hera hook up when they're older, could they have an all-human kid or an all-Cylon kid? Is the Cylon gene dominant or recessive?? :D
I did not enjoy this version of "All Along the Watchtower", btw. The singing over the final scenes made my ears unhappy. :( And having the characters quote the lyrics, i... just... what? OH WAIT! Like a radio transmission from Earth? OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. That makes more sense. I'm sitting here like "WTF PLACE DOES BOB DYLAN HAVE IN THE BSG UNIVERSE!??!?!!? THIS IS RETARDED." Right right right. The thing is, i dunno, the idea of them arriving on contemporary Earth (or i guess more in the future, as the case may be) seems so weird! Okay really i just think it's funny imagining if they arrived like, during DINOSAUR TIMES. And then they get down there and are like "OH SHIT we can't stay here! SHIT SHIT SHIT GET BACK IN THE RAPTORS! ...........................HAHAHAHAHHAH PUN! RAPTORS!!!!!" (you know on The Office, in The Coup, when Michael says "does the tiger transfer the monkey to another branch?" and then his face lights up because of the unintentional pun? that is exactly what just happened to me.) But i know it makes perfect sense for them to get here in the present/future or whatever, since the idea is that the early colonists basically founded society on Earth, right? Right.
Lee's speech was awesome and extremely sense-making! I like how he was all "ME?? ON THE STAND??!? NO WAY!!!!" and then once he got up there he monologued for like a half hour. LOL LEE. :D
