It took all of three seconds for the initial blast to go off. The cargo shredded itself to pieces as the explosion went off. John hardly had time to duck behind the console, yelling at the ensign to drop to the floor. His ears were ringing, his head was throbbing, everything ached and he had no idea what was worse. All he knew was that he needed to send out a message to everyone handling the cargo immediately. He looked around him, seeing that his uniform was singed and parts of it already soaked in blood. He groaned and looked around for his PADD, hoping it made it through the blast. He looked over and found it lying underneath the arm of the ensign... and that arm wasn't fully attached. Ignoring that for now, he grabbed his PADD and sent a message, or at least part of one, to anyone it could go out to.
