Strawberry Pancakes!

Here's a little...update.
I actually did this last night, but my internet randomly died before I could post, and it was kinda 3am, so I didn't feel like trying to fix it just then. O.o
Anyway, I started this when it was just, like three Tweets. As a cute little mini-update. But as I was working on it he kept Tweeting more...
Four hours later, he ( Read more... )

*cheesy music*

LOL! Cows are indeed female!

WTFluff? he's gone stark raving bonkers! Spam in sushi... My SISTER hasn't even done that yet!! D:
And he really does know everything about everything...

It's quite funny to see what happens when he gets bored. He cooks. Experimentally.

So THAT'S what those tweets were about (my cell phone won't read Japanese characters, so all I had to go on was that pancake picture).

Next we'll be seeing him on the Food Network or something.

I've heard that they'll cook real well if you put mayonnaise in them....
WAT

and did you just say SPAM sushi? D8

I have that problem too. But, yeah, he posted a picture of his breakfast and ended up spending a good chunk of the day discussing pancakes...

Next we'll be seeing him on the Food Network or something.

A whole new demographic to pimp his album to!

WAT

That was Takanori's reaction too...

and did you just say SPAM sushi? D8

Yes, yes I did.

He decided to Live-Tweet making diner, and that was what he made...

The silence is getting to him. LOL

Not only do I have the cell phone problem, we don't even have internet at home 'cause we're so far out in the sticks, and I'm almost always late to the party (hell, whenever I order something, it's close to 5:00 IN THE EVENING when FedEx finally arrives at my house!).

I've got something of a weak stomach so I can't stomach a lot of things anyway but the mere mention of mayonnaise always makes me, like, feel really sick. So mayo in pancakes: DO NOT WANT. And SPAM. GUH.

It'd get to me too, ha ha ha. I would have lost it after day 1, honestly.

Japanese!Mayo is not quite the same thing as North American!Mayo, but still...

So mayo in pancakes: DO NOT WANT.

Totally!

And SPAM. GUH.

Apparently, this is an Okinawa dish. (And I guess spam is really popular in Hawaii too...)

It'd get to me too, ha ha ha. I would have lost it after day 1, honestly.

And apparently the poor thing can't even watch TV/movies or listen to music, because he'd unconsciously move his vocal cords while listening to it, and he's not allowed to do that.

also, just spamming here (Oh yes I did just say that!)- I was having a discussion today about mayonnaise about how some people just put it on EVERYTHING. People dip CHIPS in it. This, I cannot fathom.

Apparently, many Japanese people regard mayonnaise he same way most American children regard ketchup (i.e. that food is nothing more than a ketchup/mayo delivery system).

Japanese mayonnaise tastes very different to the North American one. I LIKE Japanese mayo, on noodles and stuff for instance. Wouldn't dream of putting the NA stuff on them though.

Not that this makes it less weird, but it's not as bad as you probably imagine.

I must need another coffee, it took like a whole minute to find the "reply" button on the pretty new layoutt ^^;;

{Ok, so here's a question I have. He's said this before, that both his parents were government workers. But all the background info I've ever seen says his mother was a dental hygienist (and Japanese Wikipedia says she also taught at a dental hygienist school). Would a dental hygienist (or dental hygienist teacher) be considered a government worker in Japan? Or is there something wrong with the background info I've seen?}}Short answer: Sometimes, yes ( ... )

That makes sense.

I figured it was possible that his mother did work for the government as a dental hygenist. But without knowing how the Japanese medical/dental system was structured, I couldn't be sure.

Thanks!

OH! I get it, *i think* so it's like how in the UK, you get people working on the NHS (national health service) as opposed to private clinics.

I think the term used for someone who works in a profession run by the government is 'civil servant'. I guess that's the UK equivalent.

If I'm getting the right end of the stick, that is.

mayonnaise on pancakes? i do like mayonnaise but only with salted food, if the pancakes were made with salt i would agree
you know here is totally normal to eat chocolate on pizza, without tomato and cheese of course
some even put chocolate on pasta... i don't really get it

i've just realized my parents are both government workers too...

It's a canned meat product it's reputation in most of the US is...not good.

Japanese mayonnaise is different from North American mayonnaise (I'm not sure about mayo from the rest of the world), but still...

You know, I actually find "pizza with chocolate" less weird than "pizza without cheese". LOL
