Here's a little...update.
I actually did this last night, but my internet randomly died before I could post, and it was kinda 3am, so I didn't feel like trying to fix it just then. O.o
Anyway, I started this when it was just, like three Tweets. As a cute little mini-update. But as I was working on it he kept Tweeting more...
Four hours later, he ( Read more... )

also, just spamming here (Oh yes I did just say that!)- I was having a discussion today about mayonnaise about how some people just put it on EVERYTHING. People dip CHIPS in it. This, I cannot fathom.

Apparently, many Japanese people regard mayonnaise he same way most American children regard ketchup (i.e. that food is nothing more than a ketchup/mayo delivery system).

Japanese mayonnaise tastes very different to the North American one. I LIKE Japanese mayo, on noodles and stuff for instance. Wouldn't dream of putting the NA stuff on them though.

Not that this makes it less weird, but it's not as bad as you probably imagine.

I did know about the different taste, so I figured that was probably a factor, and that it wasn't as bad as what I would imagine when thinking of, say, pizza and mayo.

Though it still seems to have the level of popularity there as ketchup does here. ^_~

And that is one Japan thing I will never understand, ever.

Mayo and corn and ugh on pizza is just weird

Yeah, I'd heard of that, but I know it's not the same "mayonnaise" I have in my fridge. And without knowing what Japanese mayo taste like, I can't really say "Oh! Mayonnaise on pizza?! That's so gross!".

I think mayo on pizza is probably like black olives; if you don't acquire the taste as a kid, you'll never like it.

What's also shocking is how NORMAL corn-and-mayo pizza is here. Any pizza buffet will have it.

Meh, I don't mind at all.

I also heard his mum was that... But it could be wrong, I mean, I saw it ONCE on a site somewhere.

I've seen it a few places, but only from secondary sources...
