coordinated premature awakening
I’ve been saving up tidbits to enter for over a week now, but it seems dumb to post them at this point. However, this happened today at work and I had to put it up.
This morning my boss appeared in my dream and told me to wake up. Being at heart a subservient puppy, I did. I looked at the clock and it was 4:30. I lay back down, feeling angry and cheated.
When I got to work, two co-workers mentioned that they woke up at 4:30 this morning. We made a joke about how we should have called each other. Since one person has to get up early tomorrow anyway, she offered to call us to coordinate.
Fifteen minutes ago, our boss just said that she had woken up at 4:30 this morning. I mentioned my dream and she answered, “Is that all I have to do? Tell you to do something?”
“In my dream, sure.”
“Well, when I told you to wake up, I meant in a larger sense.”
There are days when I’m actually glad I came to the office.
