I think we are all ready for Christmas now. The decorations are up, the tree (did I mention we got a REAL tree this year? It looks and smells so great!) is decorated, Robbie has even done up the front porch in a very seasonal way. Presents are bought, wrapped and ready to be torn open on Christmas Morning.
We are (if the weather cooperates - which is hasn’t much lately) planning to go to Toronto on Christmas Eve to be with the sisters and their families, and we may even go to some kind of church service - which would be a first for us! But we need to be home early to start work on the Christmas Day Feast we are planning. Bob & Dave and Wilf & Alex will join us for a turkey dinner and I am really looking forward to it. I hope I am feeling well enough by then to enjoy it all.
In the meantime, Mother Nature continues to decorate the landscape around us. In addition to the snow we have received this past week, we got another coating of icy white stuff today. It was actually a strange day with periods of heavy snow followed by sunshine, followed by more snow, then more sunshine . . . well, you get the idea. Apparently this is “lake-effect” snow. Regardless, it adds to the total accumulation. But I must say, it does make things look very seasonal. Woodstock looks like a Hallmark Christmas card. I rather like it (for now!).
Finally, for those of you asking for them, here are a few pictures of our Christmas decorations. Enjoy and all the best of the season to you and yours!
