So we had been talking with our friends, Bob and Dave, about going to some kind of church service at Christmas. They called Christmas Eve afternoon to ask if we wanted to go to church that evening at 7:30.
I was still recovering from a very bad stomach ache that woke me up at 4:30 that morning. I think it was too many raw veggies from the plate we forgot to put out for our party. Just goes to show, too much of even a good thing, can take a toll. At any rate, I was disinclined to go out since I was tired and my stomach was still not back to normal, so I begged off. I don’t think Robbie was that hot to go either, but who knows.
But instead of a quiet Christmas Eve at home, Robbie decided that he needed to install the new toilet we had gotten at Home Depot a few days earlier. My heart wasn’t into it, and I was torn between having it done “professionally” or at least having Bob help us out since he has done this before. But Robbie was convinced it was easy beans, and that he could do it on his own.
Of course, I was there too help too. But Robbie took matters in hand and did a great job of putting the new unit in place. I must say, I am very proud of him and VERY happy with the results. This is a toilet that fits my needs much better than the old one, AND it will not clog or leak, which is what primarily bothered us about the old one. The leak in our kitchen ceiling is testament to the problems the old john made for us.
Therefore, meet "LOU," our new toilet. Needless to say, Robbie is VERY happy about our new pal!
