Creepy f***ing Jimmy Johns commercial
Has anyone else heard this thing? Here I thought I was offended by the stupidity of the AXE deodorant commercials, when Jimmy Johns manages to come along with something that actually is completely repellent.
Nearly the entirety of the commercial, save for a small blurb at the end from a regular announcer saying "Jimmy Johns, World's Greatest Gourmet Sandwiches", goes something like this; imagine it being read in this entirely creepy, monotone voice. I'll reproduce it as well as I can remember:
"I've fallen in love.
I've never been in love before.
It's with a girl that works at Jimmy Johns.
Every day, I'll go in and watch her make..."
*there's descriptions of 2 or 3 sandwiches here, I can't remember exactly how it went*
"Someday, I'll ask her to marry me. And when we're married, we'll have a happy home, and we'll eat Jimmy Johns forever and ever."
(or something like that. The truly creepy part is to follow)
"And if she doesn't marry me... she'll be sorry. Very, very sorry."
AND THAT'S IT. NO coda, no "ha ha", no funny coppers coming in to arrest this loon... nothing.
Either the ad execs at JJ are complete and abject morons, or they are misogynist bastards for whom the stalking of a woman by a psycho is fair game so long as it sells sandwiches.
