I really love art that gives you a very specific feeling when you see it. This piece is one of my favourites and is by
JPdotty. I don't know her so I hope it's okay that I'm sharing her art here... I did credit her after all ;)
I was sure that she was up for an award at the
rhr_awards, but I can't find it now. I guess maybe I was mistaken...
Anyway, here is her piece entitled simply "Hermione". I feel so intrigued by this piece. The way she left so much blank space in front of Hermione really gives it a depressing, solitary vibe. Hermione's eyes are closed so you feel like she's not really there, in her own world... And she's partially cut off on the right side which adds even more to the feeling of separation and solitude. And then of course you have the canary sitting on her wrist, soft and still, Hermione's wand no where to be found. After the explosion, this is what is left. There's a sense of calm, but granted to her out of something terrible - a loss - depicted brilliantly here:
Every time I look at this piece I feel really emotionally affected. It really captures something beautiful I think, a moment that isn't in the books where we get to see Hermione at her lowest, by herself, and maybe even too upset to shed any more tears.
Bravo, JPdotty! :)
...Stupid YouTube doesn't have the Rogue Wave song I wanted to post on here so... hit up this link and click to listen to Right With You :)
