[OPEN THREAD] Tonight We Dine In Hell

It was like the calm before the storm when Riku awoke that morning. Though he still maintained the air of calm that had been present about him since the day before, taking a shower before getting dressed and starting through the large compound they had secured for the purpose of acting as their base during this dispute. Every one of his boys that he came across was noticeably rattled, whether due to nerves of the impending battle or the sheer excitement of the bloodshed to come the younger was unaware. These men had fought by his side in many altercations, so he knew they had what was necessary to come away from what was to be the biggest, bloodiest fight they’d ever been a part of with their lives.

After a quick breakfast, the twenty-year-old gang leader did some last minute checks on his equipment, consoling some of the more distressed members of his group that he encountered before heading out, clad in the jacket Xigbar had given him, to meet Axel at the Tram Common, making sure to pay a visit to an old friend on the way, leaving him with a special greeting from his newly souped-up hand gun.

That had felt good.

It didn't take him long to locate the rather obvious redhead and lead him, as discreetly as possible, back to their stronghold. The last thing he really wanted was to draw too much attention to themselves and rouse suspicion from the natives causing them, in turn, to contact the police. That would just make their job all that more difficult and it was hard enough as it was. There were around thirty or so men in their 'sanctuary', due to participate in the events later that day and making sure all of them avoided detection wasn't exactly a picnic.

The sophomore directed the senior Chemistry major to where Xigbar had stationed himself to be debriefed and armed while he went back to his own room to arm himself. The adrenaline had started to flood his veins and the silver-haired islander was more than a little pumped for this fight; something he'd been yearning to settle before he even left the islands for college but had never been granted the opportunity.

Riku sat at the desk for a little while, contemplating what was going to happen now. It was expected of him to go and talk to the boys, to boost their morale for a potentially life-threatening situation, but there were other things on his mind besides what they were about to undertake: what was to come after. After a short period of thought, the Marine Biology major figured out what he wanted to say, getting to his feet and moving out of the door and down the stairs to the meeting room, where everyone was most likely gathered, waiting for him to blow the whistle to start the war.
