Everything I write seems to fall short of my expectations....

...so here are a bunch of random notes from the last week or so.

- On Sunday, we took a trip to a little island near our town. We swam in the ocean, climbed around on rocks, and met a really sweet Korean girl who insisted that we take lots of photos with her.

- While stopping on the bridge to the island to take in the view, I stepped back full-force into the hot exhaust pipe on the motorcycle. I'd post a photo of the burn it left, but it's not a sight for the squeamish.

- Later that day, we hiked up the mountain across the street from our apartment.

- Summer camp began on Monday. Smaller classes, more informal structure, but still a headache to deal with screaming kids all day.

- I was pleasantly surprised to discover that our crummy little bookstore in town had the new Harry Potter book.

- Tomorrow, we're supposed to take the summer camp kids to the beach. Not one of the good beaches, but the one that smells bad and has gravel instead of sand. I'm in charge of the worst class in the camp. Wish me luck.

- This weekend, we're heading to Busan. We will be able to enjoy good food, good shopping, and some of the nicest beaches in Korea.

- Next Tuesday marks the one-year anniversary of our (first) wedding.

Korea's been making me feel more than a little claustrophobic lately; I can't wait to go far, far away for a couple of weeks and recharge. What I'd really like to do would be to go home for just ONE DAY, but obviously, that's not going to happen. Instead, I'm busying myself with preparing for our big vacation through Southeast Asia. It should be a lot of fun if I can just get the damn thing planned.

So much to do, and it seems that I never have any time to do it. Isn't that always the way though?
