I think I am going to have to head to a desert to cool off!/ Vacation.

I shall start by saying hi.
Life has been a little interesting for me lately so I shall tell you the story.

July 1st started with bang.  Literally...and not the big ones in the sky, although I thought it was originally.  Anyway!  On the night in question a man that appeared to be drunk ran his car into the corner of my garage.  When I say appeared or is it allegedly, I mean I didn't have lab drawn or have a breathalizer to confirm.  So I am just going from the fact that when he got out of his car he was holding a can of miller lite in his hand. I don't know if I have ever said this, but I live on a corner lot.  The man was estimated by neighbors to be going around  50 miles an hour when he wasn't able to make the corner and came up into my yard and into the corner of my garage.  Oh and my friends car was in the driveway and took one for the team in her front drivers panel. I think had he not hit her car, his car would have come more into my garage.
So as I am on the phone with 911 and trying to get him to stay still (although I am so not trying hard because I am SO NOT sympathetic) and relay information to 911 as he is falling down in my side yard; this woman appears and calls him by name.  It is his wife and they live down the street from me. (further south) So he has a bloody nose and abraisions to his R arm and a laceration to his left elbow and I tell 911 this. 911 wants to tell my how to "stem the bleeding" which I tell them I don't care that he is bleeding..
911 operator: What did you say?
me:  I said I don't care that he is bleeding and that it is just a slow drip anyway that is going to stop on its own. (I don't tell her I am an RN)
911Operator:  Does he have any life threatening injuries?
me: Not yet (oh how I wanted to maybe give him more injuries)
911 OP:  What?
Me:  I mean he is too drunk to feel anything and from what I can see his nose is not broken just bloody.
911 op: ok an ambulance, police and fire rescue are on their way
As this is being said the man starts to crawl along my side yard with beer can still in hand.  Then he is up and takes off running to the west from my house.  I relay this information to 911.  They say they shall let the officers know, but need to get off the line.
Long story short....This happened around 9:30 at night.  The garage was/is structurally sound. My brother helped me board up that side. (luckily I have a 2 car garage with 2 seperate doors.)  He hit the side I don't park my car on.   The cops didn't find him until 2:30 AM.  Oh and I guesll he had already put his truck in a ditch not far from our residential area earlier in the night.  The car he was driving was his wifes and their insurance policy expired June 24th.  WOO HOO.
So I am still in the process of finding a contractor to fix the damage.

Good news:  I am going to California this next week to see my friends and have a grand time.  I am also looking forward to escaping this triple digit weather we have been having all month!
