I'll be back with fic later. I found two bunnies while peruse people's Day 4 Wishlistsm but A)even in the best of times, I'm not the fastest writer and B) I got my assignment for
chocolateboxcomm and since that's a fest with a deadline and a EXTREMELY challenging assignment, it takes top priority. BUT!!! I do want to use this space to show you me being Fandom!Crafty!
For my niece who is like my geek daughter, who had her first baby in June and decided to cloth diaper and then got excited about how many cute diapers there are. I wanted to get some geek ones for her (or more--she had quite a few already). I went looking... and found nothing I liked, and everything was kind of expensive. Soooooo, I thought, how hard can it be? I mean, I have a sewing machine I need to figure out how to use, what better way? After spending WAY more than it would have cost to buy the diapers already built, I made my own. ♥ These pictures do not do them justice. They are super cute!
My niece is a major Star Wars nerd. Her favorite is Boba Fett... I'm a Han girl myself. :)
And because I'm a dork, and I had to hand stitch the pee-pee pads that go into the pocket of the diaper because they're too thick... I got creative:
Yes, I took the time to stitch these for the baby to um... do his thing on... ;)
And finally, the last diaper--modeled by my new Nanny Baby (the reason I had so much time to devote to this project was that his mother was on maternity leave--which means so was I--for most of November and all of December):
