Off Into The Sunset - A Prison Break Double Drabble

She was clutching the thick-rimmed glass with both hands, the amber liquid inside reminding Sara of strong, pungent Scottish whisky. The taste of the ginger ale on her tongue wasn't nearly as satisfying as her memory of the peaty alcoholic beverage burning down her throat.
"Bad day?" she suddenly heard a familiar voice close to her. She looked up and saw Katie taking the barstool next to her.
"Yeah, you could say that."
"Don't you sometimes just wanna pack up and sail off into the sunset?"
"Wouldn't that be nice?"
"Land on a lonely paradise island with nothing but white beaches and palm trees..."
Sara pictured herself walking barefoot along the beach, the sand warm beneath her feet, but then her common sense kicked in. "It can't be too lonely. There has to be food and electricity and... sanitary facilities."
Katie laughed. "You're such a realist. And a killjoy. Let's order a cocktail, get back in the mood. Sex on the Beach?"
"No thanks."
Katie laughed again. "It wasn't an offer."
Sara's expression grew more serious. "I can't."
"Oh, Jesus, Sara, I'm sorry. I forgot."
Sara smiled a bittersweet smile. "It's okay. You go ahead. I'll stick to ginger ale."
