I just realised I hadn't posted about Scribblenauts.
davegotsu convinced me we needed a DS (before a garden shed or a debt-free kitchen, apparently).
Scribblenauts is an insane problem-solving game in which you can make anything (the game's heard of) appear to help you solve your problem.
However you have to be careful what you ask for and how you apply it.
In one level you have to stop ants eating a picnic, but you can't kill them because you'll upset the hippy. However getting an anteater to do it is perfectly fine.
In another level you have to tidy a park, so I got a park ranger. He ate a discarded sweet, then didn't do much. I gave him a butterfly net to catch a fly, he became inexplicably angry and beat me to death with it.
Also it turns out that lassos and fish are fine for getting a cat down from a roof, however a helicopter is overkill (literally - that little girl looked pretty upset).
As someone who doesn't really play computer games much I can recommend this as a good way of filling some idle time.
