I just had my brother on the phone, he started off casually, telling me that he had an interview for a room (<- this is usual here... I won't explain it here, it'll take too long) and in one go he also casually told me he had announced this afternoon that he is gay. He said that I was the easiest to say it to, because I don't care. (It's not exactly that I don't care, it's just that it doesn't matter to me if he falls in love with a girl or a boy) No-one in my family (apart from maybe some aunts or uncle's whose opinion I couldn't care less about) cares about it if someone is gay or straight. But he now has to tell my oldest sister, and she will be thrilled. Only downside for him: she will want to go shopping with him and he hates that. (he said that himself too ^__^)
But really the way he told me he was gay, was so incredibly casual... it was right in between, oh I think I found a room, I'm gay, and don't forget to call mom tomorrow. And I am really glad that we were all brought up in such a way that he can say it that casual. Though honestly, I am not really that surprised that he is gay. He had pictures of naked men on his pc before I had them... and he is a year younger... I also really doubt that my family was very surprised by it. I think we all 'felt' that he might come home with a guy one day in stead of a girl. But then, until he says it, we don't really know anything, do we ^__~
I do see one mayor plus side to this... I kind of can now introduce him to yaoi. I mean he already likes anime and as long as I stay clear of the really sappy ones he'll probably like them. (he didn't like the anime Gravitation)
