My friends and I decided to go to L.A. yesterday, just one of those carzy, nothing better to do in Tijuana (México) deals. We rented a car cause we all didn't fit into mine, went to an art gallery and found a really cool used CD's store. I bought stuff, and decided that I wasn't gonna spend anymore. We ended up on Sunset Blvd, my friends made me go into Tower Records (I kept reminding myself: no more spending, you are on a bugdet). Then my boyfriend calls my name, I turn, and he lifts up something in his hands, my jaw dropped and all hopes of keeping my word to myself totally disappeared. It was the BOX Live set, it was onsale, I had to keep myslef from screaming in joy. I had wanted to buy it, but I didn't think I'd find is so fast, or that I would have the money in my pocket when I finally did (lucky me I had taken enough in case of an emergency, and this was it). I snatch it up, and proceed to try and not look around, but I couldn't help myself, and I was so close to buying the Family Tree set also (only I would be broke by the time we left the store) and decided to wait on that one. On my way to the register, I passed the new DVD releses, and darn it, I am drawn like a bee to honey. They had Royal Opera House, Vessel, and Inside Björk. Since ROH was on sale I got that one and the Inside Björk only cost 10 bucks so I got that one too. I went Björk crazy, and when we went down to Hollywood Blvd, we sorta happened to pass by the Bowl, and the memory of the past monday, and the sounds, and the image of her in the distance, all came back to me. It was a happy night (I didn't even care that we saw Robbie Williams at the record store, I was focused on Björk).
All day my friends had me listening to Himsa, and other weird satanic music. When we started to drive back, it was my turn behind the wheel (for the almost 2 1/2 hour drive) they had to listen to her (first the Homogenic one, and then Post). It was cool 'cause one of the more hardcore mosh kids, started to ask me about her, and her music, and her videos, and we ended up talking about her all the drive back.
This morning I woke up, watched my new DVD's (including the one from the box set) and I was left speachless. After finishing I had to come here and say that she IS amazing.
So, a note to all... Tower Records (at least the one on Sunset) has Björk merch on sale :D and it's guarenteed to make you feel all happy inside.
