So here I sit.
It's the first day of my job. Now job might be over-exaggerating a little bit. I'm working for my dorm, Armory House, on package duty twice a week for a total of 3 hours. Haha. 3 hours per week? Sounds good to me. All I'm required to do is distribute the mail into the mail boxes, record the packages that arrived for the day, and wait for people to come get their packages. Now for sorting out the mail, I was a little nervous because sometimes it's really hard to close the gigantic door that's locked to the wall. Luckily, I managed to do it successfully today.
So that's it. I was done sorting and organizing 10 minutes before 5. 5-6 is package pickup. So if nobody is here, I'm basically getting paid to surf the internet or do homework from the office instead of in my room. I'm definitely okay with that. It's only $8.50/hour, which is going straight towards rent credit so that I don't have to pay taxes or anything. I'm hoping that soon I'll be able to work a little bit more so that I can get some more money.
Anyway, I'm officially playing Eb clarinet in Wind Symphony, which is the top band. I was supposed to be last chair, but now I'm sitting up front with the firsts. Kind of extremely intimidating...yeah...
Allstate conference is this weekend. Phil, Alyssa, and I are leaving Thursday afternoon. I'm having Phil drive my car since I'm afraid of driving on the highway, and I'm sure I'll be shitting my pants in fear the whole time. I hope it ends up okay. We're all going to be staying in the same room, which could be weird but I think we're close enough for it not to be weird at all. The person organizing the conference for us college folk didn't do a good job. Everything is extremely disorganized. Apparently we have to dress nice for the conference...aka no jeans. Which is a problem, seeing as the only nice pants I own are my black ones which have been worn to death. So I think I'm going to go to Macy's tomorrow and investigate some new options. I haven't gotten new clothes in a long long while.
I wish I had something interesting to say. I really don't. Everything has been pretty trivial. Classes are going fine. No complaints really.
I love mail.
