How's life in Shelbyville?
I was feeling kinda meh ever since we lost Ziggy and Zoe this year. So, Seattle and I started looking on Craigslist and other websites for cats. Every time I would look, I would cry a little. But I knew I wasn’t ready yet, until I went on the SPCA website. On the website, Seattle showed me a picture of a kitten that had a small white mustache. She was 11 weeks old and only weighed 3lbs. She was brought in on my birthday which was October 19th. I gave it some thought and kinda hesitated. As I scrolled through some more photos, I still didn’t decide because the kitten with the mustache was still on my mind. So, Seattle last week went to the SPCA and asked the person behind the counter if we can look at the cats. She said go ahead and then I saw that the cat with the mustache wasn’t adopted yet. I told Seattle I think this is the one. So I took a screenshot of her name and brought it back to the woman up front and said I would like to adopt her. She said you just need to fill this out and she is yours. But you have to pick her up on Friday cause we have to spay her.
The following day, Seattle had to work, but his niece picked me up from the apartment and we went out to get her. I was excited, nervous and sad at the same time. When we got there, I handed over my adoption papers and they bought her out. By the time we got home, we dumped the cardboard box on its side and let her do her thing. She went around the apartment and started sniffing around but then after a couple of hours she was running around and enjoying her wide open space. Towards the end of the night, she jumped on the couch and cuddled up next to me. When we tried to go to bed that night, I was hoping that she would sleep in the living room, but she ended up sleeping with us. I guess she knew that she was going to be surrounded by love between the both of us.
