Friends from the Past

The other day, I was looking through a couple of autograph books that I have from Disney Cruises just thinking about the fun times that I’ve had and some of the DCL performers that I’ve met and made friends with over the years, and I came across 2 that I had been looking for but never found because they had always stuck out in my mind as the two that meant the most to me. When I found them, I figured out that I’d devote a livejournal update to them for that same reason (and because it would still be Disney related). And I’ll show you the face behind the autograph.

The first guy is Aaron

This guy is so nice. I met him probably about 2 and a half years ago or so. Maybe a little longer, but I don’t really remember. Anyway. He is so sweet, and he’s so the guy that you would want as your best friend type. He’s also the kind of guy that you can really talk to with no problem whatsoever. After Disney Cruise Line, he went to Hong Kong Disneyland where he now is and has about 2 ½ weeks left, performing in HKDL’s version of The Golden Mickeys. He is in a lot of numbers in the show, but I think some of the cooler ones that he has are the Prince in the Beauty and the Beast Number, and Tarzan in the Tarzan number.

The thing that I like the most about Aaron is that he is really easy to laugh with. He knows just what to do to make someone laugh too. Now in January, he starts rehearsals for the Disney Wonder, and he has a 6 month onboard contract after rehearsals end. You should seriously go see him!!!

Now Corey...

Corey, Corey, Corey. Where do I start with him? I met him about 5 years ago when he was 19, and I was 14. He’s almost 24. The fact that we’re still friends today after 5 years has to say something, right? Anyway… We met at a midnight screening (the earliest time that they could show it on the ship) of Finding Nemo the night that it came out onboard the Disney Magic. He was sitting a row ahead of me. I thought that he was kind of cute, and I just struck up a conversation with him. At the time, I didn’t realize that he was a performer on the ship. In Hercules the Musical, he played Young Hercules, and in Disney Dreams, he played Aladdin. The Aladdin scene was honestly one of my favorite parts of the show. After Disney Cruise Line, he went to Orlando and spent a while performing at Disney World (my most favorite shows he’s done there being High School Musical the Pep Rally, and High School Musical 2: School’s Out), and Universal Studios (as Wolfman in Beetlejuice’s Graveyard Revue).

Right now, he is currently in rehearsals for Royal Caribbean’s Monarch of the Seas. I am really excited, because it turns out that my family and I are actually going on the Monarch just about a week or so after he gets on. I’m excited about it, because I’ll get to spend a lot of time with him on the ship when he’s not onstage. Corey and I talk a lot, and I really like that about him. Ok. I’ve been talking about him a lot, so I bet you want to know what I really like about him. What I like about Corey is that he’s a “balls - to - the - wall” kind of guy. He doesn’t let anything scare him, and he can be really funny at the same time too. I guess you can say that he’s like the older brother that I never had, and I REALLY love that about him.

I could go on and on about what I like about these two guys, but I won’t bore you with everything (even if it isn’t really that boring at all).

Until next time...
