Dogs on Medicaid

mom: People sometimes get into plane crashes and die.
me: Uh huh.
mom: So we're going out of the country, and if anything happens to us, we don't have a will.
me: YOU DON'T HAVE A WILL?????
mom: Well, we DO have a will. Everything will be divided between you and your brothers.
me: Oh, you mean those guys who have given you heirs.
mom: [Doesn't get the sarcasm - the only grandchildren that they have are my kids.] Yes. I'm sure that you know that we help our families in Honudars and Peru.
me: I know.
mom: And if your dad and I die unsuspectedly, we'd like you to keep sending money to your families.
me: My family lives in my house.
mom: [Maybe she didn't hear that.] I send my mother and father two hundred dollars a month, and I'd like you to keep sending that much to them after we die.
me: Is that in the will?
mom: No, why? Should it be?
me: If you want money to go to them, you should put it in the will.
mom: I can't trust you to take care of my parents?
me: I have to take care of my family.

*****
She gave me grief a year ago when I asked her for three hundred dollars to pay the rent.
mom: If you're having difficulty paying the rent, ask the GOVERNMENT to help you!
me: You're telling me to get a government hand-out???
mom: Yes! That's what it's there for: To protect its citizens.

WHO GAVE THIS WOMAN AMERICAN CITIZENSHIP?????

Perhaps my grandparents should ask for a government hand-out.
