Sigh. I'm going to miss him SO MUCH. And apparently he's leaving before the season finale? So we'll have a few episodes at the end to experience the Void.
I'm super bummed. He's my favorite so this really sucks. However I think it's probably the right decision for him and I hope he gets a good exit (happy!) because he deserves it. I'll keep watching because I love everyone else but I'm sure I won't like it as much and it won't be as high up on my list anymore. I just wish they'd stop it now but it's on NBC and they're desperate for ratings so I know it's impossible. I like this season though, I think it's been pretty funnier or at least a billion times better than last season.
I think it's the best decision for him, too. I'm just disappointed that the show will continue without him since he brings so much to the overall feeling of the series. The supporting cast is great and I'm sure they'll adapt as best as they can, but, man, no Michael? DISTRESSING.
Yeah this season is better than last season. I'll give them that much. It's the first season I didn't buy on DVD, is the degree to which I didn't care for it.
Well, Steve Carell/Michael Scott is what originally drew me to the show, and I was having trouble imagining The Office without him, but I've noticed that this season is really prepping us for his departure, and because of that, I can kind of deal with it. The show is starting to shift focus to Andy/Darryl/Dwight as the principles, and that totally works for me. Still though, the show will be pretty damn lackluster without all the color that Michael Scott spews out on everything. I'm hoping that the new boss will be just as effective with the color spewing, but in a different kind of way. Is that possible? I have no idea, but I'm willing to give it a try. Especially if they cast Murray from Flight of the Conchords (he was rumored to be on the short list ages ago, not sure if he still is)
Michael has been my primary reason for watching these past couple of seasons. Without him, there isn't much keeping me invested in the show. As much as I like the supporting cast, I'm not sure they'd be enough to entice me to tune in weekly. I am curious to see how the writers handle the managerial transition, however! So I'll definitely stick around for that, and if I like what I see, I doubt I'll be going anywhere.
I never watched Flight of the Conchords, so I'm not too familiar with him, but what I saw of the clips was pretty entertaining. I wouldn't be opposed to that casting. :>
I have been enjoying the Andy/Darryl/Dwight camaraderie. Actually their interaction is one of the few that I've really liked this season.

Oh my god, things are rub. I AM TRYING TO THINK POSITIVELY, though, because optimism is supposed to help turn things around. Right?
