Movies of 2020
There's supposed to be a movie post every year, but there were so few movies for me, I had to think really hard to remember what I watched.
There were two! (Wow.) You'd think that's a new low, but I only watched two movies in 2019, as well.
1) Frozen 2 in January, but somehow forgot to write a review for it. I didn't like it as much as the first one, but it was still pretty good. 8 out of 10 stars.
2) Weiyena, a family documentary made by Zhao Weina, born in Beijing and raised in Vienna. It's a harrowing account of what the cultural revolution did to her parents and grandparents. Very painful, but very good. Very courageous, too. I'm actually afraid for the family members who appeared in it (but maybe she only published it after they died, I don't know). I still don't know if the movie is now available anywhere - I saw it as part of a documentary festival. 10 out of 10 stars.
