20 old fandom icons for somein30
This month's challenge at somein30 is called Memory Lane, and the normal mode asked for "fandoms that were important to you at some point, organized in a timeline".
I took this challenge *very literally* and started with my first fandom, and then tried to make an icon for my fave fandom for every single year since. I also tried to represent its essence, i.e. exactly what I liked about it. You guessed it, it's mostly romance! :D
The old fandoms were pretty hard to find caps for, that was a challenge all in itself. The first one I made my own caps for is CSI (in 2004). But otoh, I found that someone uploaded all the scenes of my favorite Santa Barbara pairing to youtube. O_o (Yes, I lost some time to that. Oops.)
I tried to make a complete timeline, but I didn't *quite* make it. For one, I had to stop after 20 (in 2009) or I wouldn't have made the deadline, and for another, I can't remember which fandoms I had in 1993/1994. It was before the Internet. I have no records (and no memories). ;)
