Battlestar Galactica - My first impression

I wasn't expecting a comment from you. To be honest, I wasn't expecting any comments. I found that in the last two months, noone outside of Germany has commented on any of my posts. In that sense, I doubly thank you for commenting! I don't feel so invisible anymore.

Yes, I've got to agree with you there. It is complex, and they tend not to solve anything within one or two episodes. I like that a lot, too.
I don't care that it's SF, particularly, though I don't have a problem with SF per se
You know, if it comes to that, I really prefer SF over everything else. It's just the military part that I don't like as much. But then, the only space series ever without military structures was Farscape. It's not really a common theme... ;).

True. I agree with you on the XO. I wonder what happens when the last alcohol reserves are depleted. In the episodes I've seen so far, he always had half a bottle left. It just doesn't seem to get less. :)

:) - well, it's the 'engineer' part that attracts me, I guess. When faced with a choice between a 'user' (=pilot) and a 'creator' (=engineer), I'll always choose the latter. I personally have always liked to make things much more than to use things or play with them. Also, I think it's the underdog appeal again. The pilots are the glorious ones, higher up in the hierarchy. So they're less interesting from the get-go. :)
