Try looking at http://tinnny.livejournal.com/feed for the new flist. If you need to be able to back up to a particular date to read, this is not going to work for you. And unfortunately, it is coming and it's not optional.
:/
ETA: Since I read on my flist and rarely go into other people's LJs, I have to say what an awesome Community banner. Short Skirt, Long Jacket FTW!
Ooooh, thank you! So you mean the new flist will no longer allow for going back to a particular date, either? That sucks horribly. But that means I don't have to pay for my lj account after all, because that would have been the only reason to keep the paid account. *sigh*

I know. That is the final straw for me. I didn't think so at first, but, well, it's looking more and more likely. Luckily, I am feeling okay with leaving lj behind these days. DW has become a worthy successor, and almost everything has moved over there already. I think I can live with that now.

oh no, don't leave. i hate seeing people leave LJ, as i'm never going away, and i feel like this is the first step to the end of it all. (how dramatic. ;D) i'm guessing that the fandom is more represented on DW, right? i get that going to a place where everything is more active makes sense, but it's also sad to see everyone leave. :(
You know, that's how I felt three years ago, when DW got started and the first few people started leaving. But even now, there is only one of my flist who's completely moved over. And she still reads my posts, so. I don't notice it all that much
( ... )
But I don't do much than copying over there. I was just afraid with all the attacks at LJ recently that it might stop existing one day, and I wanted a back-up for all my actionfigure stories, as they were hard work to put together. I haven't found any fannish communities there yet though, and only a few friends who crosspost, so LJ is still my main home. It annoys me that I only can read 14 days back on Dreamwidth, no matter how many (or rather few) entries there are. I only go there every few weeks because I keep forgetting about it.
I don't do anything there, either. I just post through there because their crossposter is perfect. I do have two friends who actually comment over there instead of here, which is a bit annoying. And I have a lot more friends whose posts on dw get more comments than their lj posts. Which is a lot annoying.
So... yeah, no good solution for fandom these days.

I didn't even know that, but it doesn't surprise me, since LJ has the exact same problem.
