Emily and Hank sat across the table from their daughter, and Emily was anything but pleased. DG was 15, precocious as any teenager, and in deep sheets this time.
“What were you thinking?” asked Emily, throwing up her hands in exasperation.
“Mom, please don’t freak out!”
“Don’t freak out? Don’t freak out! It’s a little hard not to freak out, since this isn’t the first time you’ve done something like this.”
Hank said nothing, but his shoulders were beginning to shake with silent laughter.
“You were caught putting a fresh cow patty in the sheriff’s patrol car!”
Hank laughed aloud.
