Hot water rushed over his skin, washing all the day’s worries down the drain. His eyes shut as he worked the shampoo through his hair, singing a soft melody to himself. He was perfectly contented.
Well, until he heard the bathroom door, that he was sure he’d locked, open, and heard footsteps coming closer.
“...Who’s there?” No, his voice did not crack in fear. No answer. “...Adam?” he tried again, hopeful. Adam would calm his racing heart.
“You wish.” He heard a voice right on the other side of the shower curtain and could make out a small shadow of a figure through the fabric. The curtain was pulled back, revealing his attacker. Danny was more focused on the knife in his hands than anything else as he came closer, pushing Danny back until he hit the shower wall and he was right over him.
“Adam. Is. Mine.” The words barely reached his ears, all of his attention instead focused on the silver entering his skin, pulling crimson out with it.
