Sunshine and men

So, I guess an update is in order. I've been busy, although not really, but kind of.

First off, summer finally - finally - hit Copenhagen and I've been enjoying it every chance I get.  As soon as the sun comes out, us Danes collectively throw off our clothes and flock to the nearest patch of grass. We have so few of these days that we treasure them like rare gems and caress our sunburns with reverence instead of annoyance. Well, with annoyance too, but mostly we're just thrilled that we actually got the chance to be burnt to a crisp! Me, I'm obsessive with the sun screen so I'm taking a little longer to get that summer glow, but at least mine won't glow in the dark too.

And when I haven't been busy soaking up the rays, I've been either working or dating. That's right, I said dating. I had two dates in one day, y'all! I am aware that this might make me a heinous person of sorts, but I can't bring myself to care because the concept appeals to me so much. Brunch date and dinner date. With just enough time in between to rush home and change.

Well, the first date was a guy I've known for a while. He lives pretty far away and was only in town for a few days, so brunch was the only thing that worked for both of us. And the dinner date was a bartender I'd met 3 days before. I won't go into details, but let's suffice it to say that I haven't had the best of luck with dating bartenders. This guy had more skeletons in his closet than I have hangers in mine. I'll just give you the coup de grace of the evening: As we were parting, he suggested that the night didn't have to end *wink wink*. I graciously declined, to which he said, and I quote: "I think we should just get this whole sex thing out of the way. The first time and all that pressure... Let's just get it over with."

That's right: I'm so sexy that guys just want to get it over with!

I laughed. And laughed. And then I laughed some more. And then I went home. Alone. I'm telling you, if nothing else, dating makes being single feel like the appealing option.
