Random snippets
Woke up to a cold sore - on my nose! Ugh! Thank goodness for modern medicine. I'm popping anti-cold sore pills, so hopefully it won't be so bad. Still. This is not a good look, and not too pleasant either. It itches, and whenever I absentmindedly scratch at it, I'm pretty sure I'm making it worse.
Torrential rains yesterday. Roads were closed, and getting to work was a bitch. It was my friend Jen's birthday, so I told her how proud of her I am for causing all this havoc. She was quite pleased. :)
Sunday, I'm going to my new friend Maria's birthday party. She lives just on the other side of our fence, so I won't have far to go. All her other girlfriends are going to be there, whom I am yet to meet. It's a bit nerve wracking, being "the new girl," but I'm sure her friends are just as nice as she is. And if nothing else, I can always hit the bottle and stagger home. :) Sven asked if I needed a ride, before knowing where the event was being held, and jokingly, I said I'd like him to come pick me up. He said he'd give me a ride in his wheelbarrow, and I promised to pay him in song. :p
The postman just delivered our new trashcan for our kitchen. I found one with this neat battery-operated lid, so you just have to wave a hand in front of the little photo-cell and it lifts automatically. I'm very excited. :D Now all I need is for the kitchen to be finished... Hopefully by next weekend. *fingers crossed*
