Holiday wrap up

So back at work, and what does a good employee do? Make LJ posts on company time of course...I'm so productive.... In my defense, I'm taking today as my "ease back into the grind" day, tomorrow I will begin an earnest search for actual tasks. But for now, I've gone through my work inbox and read all the company related articles I was supposed, and now I'm here... writing a post.

So what did I get up during my X-mas holidays. Well the week before Christmas was rather quite busy, with all the baking, and the get togethers, and what not. Don't get me wrong, I liked seeing people, especially those of you who went into hiding for finals. But it would have been nice to have a breather. I spent most of my time travelling back and forth from the apartment, Boy's place and the house just so I could be dressed and showered properly and so I could bake like a mofo... so much baking... and if you remember correctly, the weather outside was frightful before Christmas, so travel times doubled, occasionally tripled when I was feeling particularly wussy...so yeah, alot of back and forth. Either way, things died down after Christmas, and all was good in the hood.

But the last week kinda spoiled me, it was really lax, and so now, back at work, I don't really know what to do with myself. Anyways, here's a list in no particular order of what I got up during my two weeks off...
  • Zoolights done right: the zoolights incident was finally rectified a year and eleven days later...yay! There was hand holding, kissing under the electric mistletoe and numerous cups of expensive, watered down hot chocolate
  • Gingerbread, stained glass sugar cookies, linzer tart, chocolate chip banana bread, and apple pie were baked, even though there was a lack of fresh lemons, and vanilla extract... my bad!
  • a ridiculous amount of shopping... my credit card will require a few months to recover, but on the plus side... new purple winter jacket and PANTS!
  • The most painful ,and apparently epic, tobogganing wipe out ever. St.Andrew's hill is normally so nice to me, but New Year's Eve, it chewed me up and spat me out... so I would land twice on my head and hurt my neck... owwww
  • Got my second flat tire ever, which sucked mostly due to my inability to loosen the lug nuts that hold the tire on...I did it once, I don't know what I couldn't do it again. Perhaps I'm getting weak in my old age.
  • Volunteered at the Mustard Seed again on Christmas Eve. This time I deftly avoided onion duty, but was however relegated to chopping and peeling apples for three hours... I did try to compose a Kwanza carol, but my attempts were sad and lacking.
  • attempted to finish my christmas crafting but became too frustrated... I will never embark on such a crochet adventure ever again...it sucks so much!
  • Recieved a Dutch Oven from Boy for Christmas, which is all kinds of awesome, yet confusing, because I don't know what my first dish should be...any suggestions?

Well hope you all enjoyed your holidays. Hopefully due to the fact that most of you are now graduated (Yay!) I will be able to see you more often.
