still here
Hello! I am still here and feeling much better than last week. I read about the parasite I got online though, and apparently it's the gift that keeps on giving- ie; there's no treatment that can get rid of it, you can only treat the syptoms. It shouldn't be a problem though unless my immune system gets really weak for some reason. Great.
Anyway, two more full weeks left!! Who's excited? I gues that would just be me.
Here we go with the weekend recap: I went to the rainforest with my ecology class, and it was a fantastic trip. We stayed on land that my ecology teacher owns, in an ecolodge that he started and runs for groups like ours. It was a really cool place- he's developing a lot of sustainable resources on his land, and we got to feel like we were "eco-tourists" for once. I'd love to go back, even the food was really good, they used a lot of foods straight from the rainforest. While we were there we did a lot of hikinng- which was muddy and difficult but we saw some pretty waterfalls and the rainforest was beautiful (i"ll have pics up soon).
This week has been pretty good, I haven't done much except relax and work on my ecology project (papaer and ppt) due next week. I have another ecology trip this weekend, this time we're going to the coast to snorkel and study coral reefs and mangroves. And then... I'll have one more weekend left. I'm thinking about just taking a day trip to a volcano that weekend, mostly because I'm running out of money, and I'm tired of 6 hour bus rides.
Other news- Jesus is still trying to transfer to Savannah, but his unit really doesn't want to let him go. If he doesn't get transferred, he'll be deploying with them n October. This would be bad, obviously, and I'm praying his transfer works out soon.
I think that's it... 14 days to go!
