so enough of this terror, we deserve to know light

Hello! I am glad everyone seems to have had/be having nice holiday-type things. Mine was quite nice, mostly there was trifle and family and Joanna Newsom's new album, which makes me well up and sniffle like a CHILD oh god I love it and I want everyone else to love it TOO but often it is hard to persuade people to download and listen to twelve- ( Read more... )

My first reaction to this was OMG I LOVE YOU A LOT. And then my second was OMG I LOVE YOU A LOT.

You are just, like, the bestest thing. You are lovely. You make me laugh UNTIL WEE COMES OUT, RACHAEL. WEE. You always have something funny and interesting and awesome to say and you're always ready to play. I find you very easy to talk to, which is often not the case with people and which I appreciate like whoa. You're very easy and unselfconscious about expressing affection, which I both admire and find helps me to do the same - I appreciate that, too.

You are so clever and yet totally unfussy about it. You amazingly lack self-pity, despite having actual Stuff to deal with. I admire so, so much the way you do stuff about things - the way you just decided to up and move to Nottingham this year; the way you worked out what needed doing then just unfussily got along and did it. You're so brave! Like a manly Victorian explorer ( ... )

You make me laugh so hard I can't speak. You have a way of phrasing things that sticks with me and brings me joy for days, weeks, months after the event. (I still heckle Doctor Who with cries of "Who's the loneliest fop at the tailors? Is it you? Is it? Is it you?") Your enthusiasm, enjoyment and delight in the strangest little things fully deserves every capital letter you throw at it. I like it when I can make you laugh.

You listen and you care -- you treat people like people, and from what little I've seen of you talk about your doctoring, you don't lose sight of your patients' basic humanity.

Oh, and you sent me an exam stress care package including-but-not-limited-to a water pistol, dinosaurs and chocolate.

In conclusion: You're kinda awesome.

I think so highly of you it's almost untrue. Don't get all blushy now, this might get effusive:

It's rare to encounter someone who's so good on both a micro- and a macro- level. You're moral and upright and all that awesome stuff, and also you're so good at people, so kind and respectful and loving. It is a joy to see the care you take to improve people's lives just by interacting with them. I don't know where the hell you get the strength to care about all the things you do.

I like watching the analytical approach you take to the problems life throws at you, and I'd like to think I've learned a bit from it. You're so brave. You make me laugh a lot. You're insanely clever, but what I really appreciate is the way you're interested in things. Your posts about maths and other suchlike things-beyond-my-ken never fail to make me smile and glow at the universe because dude, so cool; if I never understand this stuff then through your joy I understand enough to know that it's socool. You like awful puns. You like geekish things. You're a ( ... )

You have this strange quality of inspiring absolute trust in me; I can't put my finger on exactly why. You're just so obviously and absolutely decent. Everything about you gives it away: the way you write, the way you think about things, the way you react to things, the things you worry about and the way you deal with situations. I would unhesitatingly trust you with my car keys, heart, tricky moral dilemma, unexpected crisis situation or spider in the sink. The degree to which you are obviously a thoroughly good person makes me very happy. I think you are really quite special.

You are funny to the point of making me laugh out loud and you are dry and witty and ever such a good writer. You appreciate things and you're a bit like having P.G. Wodehouse on my friends list. You're clever and fair-minded and insightful and kind. You like pirates and tapdancing. You raced sunflowers. Everything about you is sheer charm and delight. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

I already know why I rock (I am grand high overlord of the universe, commander-in-chief of the rachel army and the oncoming mindbreaker) :D, so I am going to MEME YOU IN REVERSE.

You rock because you appreciate wacky slash and don't post to LJ for ages and ages and THEN erupt all over it in a post full of BIG LETTERS and dialogue and ZOMGs and the talkings of the inside of your brain.

Plus, you have tasted the delicious corpse fruit.

AND you are made of Awesome. Just like Sportacus.

I have tasted the corpse fruit AND LIVED, my child! Ahahahaha!

You rock because you're fun and funny and friendly and good natured. You magically seem to know everyone. You're very confident about who you are - you never seem to dissemble or pretend to be anyone other than your very lovely self. You're very stoical and amazingly lacking in self-pity. I like that you're willing to talk about your faith, and you never get defensive. You are slightly strange and very ace. YOU LEANT ME SANDMAN. :D :D :D

You are also, alas, a total pervert. But nobody's perfect. ;D

Surely, being a total pervert does make me perfect?
