Uh...
::DIES:: I can't believe she contacted me. This woman is unbelievably talented, miraculously talented. Her voice is one I've been trying to emulate since the late 80's, but I haven't made it yet, although I have learnt to sing many of her songs like "Changerais-tu" and my favourite, "Air fail a lail ó." I actually phonetically taught the latter to the lead singer of the local Celtic band I managed back in 1997.
In my opinion,
Talitha MacKenzie is vastly instrumental in keeping the mouth music tradition alive and bringing it to an international audience. She has breathed life into the tradition by combining it with various vocal traditions from around the world, one of my favourites of which is the Bulgarian Chant. "Adje Jano" is a must-listen. I strongly recommend her music to anyone and would love to know what you think of her if you do give her a listen.
Who knew that Barack Obama would bring me so close to one of my idols? ::head explodes::
