Wander, wonder

Researching universities to go on exchange for and an unbelievably strong feeling wells up in me

An unexplainable, undescribable urge to travel wherever and whenever I want, to stay in the place as long as I want to, to soak in the atmosphere, to get the feel of the place, to sit by the sea and stare at the waves, to sit in green fields and watch the sunset, to bike everywhere, to walk everywhere, to explore every nook and cranny of the area until I am satisfied. I want the feeling of slight wonderment at the pedestrian crossings when I look at the different shape of the green man and wonder why Singapore doesn't have the time-left-to-cross-the-road clock until the last few seconds. I want to look at different trees, different roads, different cars, different stones, different waves, different grass. I want to sit at a bench eating something I would probably be ripped off for being a foreigner, watching people go by, looking at their hair and eye colours. I want to know the small things that make each city their city, and each town their town. I want to walk along small roads that sell unique things that would only appeal to a small audience. I want to know the city, like in that Carol Ann Duffy poem.

(Writing this from an Europe point of view because I want to go to exchange in Europe)
