“Ryosuke~” Yuri whined as leaned backwards, pressing pause in the process and threw the game console onto his lap.
“I'm hungry~~”
Yamada chuckled and placed his game console down at the floor, stretching as he stood up, “shall we order food?”
He looked down at Yuri who poured at the suggestion.
“No? There's nothing much for me to cook at home though..”
Ruffling Yuri’s hair, he took another stretch to soothe the pull on his back before shuffling to the kitchen.
They had been gaming ever since Yuri turned up at his house. That was when it was still bright and hot outside, currently, the windows reflect darkness and cool breeze blew past those curtains he had placed on the kitchen windows.
Yamada opened the refrigerator and peered in, looking for ingredients that would contribute to a proper meal.
He managed to grab some pasta that was left over from his previous meal and some eggs.
He was checking the freezer when Yuri peered over his shoulder.
“Is that a lobster?”
“Yeah.”
“Can you cook it?”
“Really?”
Yamada half-turned and looked at Yuri, who nodded for confirmation.
“I've never prepared one before though..”
He took it out of the freezer and placed it in a bowl of water before proceeding to handle the other items.
“Dinner looks good already!”
Yamada chuckled at Yuri’s comment and the eyes that peered up from whatever he was doing was full of love.
2.
“So what time are you coming tomorrow?” Yamada questioned over the phone and waited as Yuri pondered.
“Probably around 11? I don't want to get up that early,” Yuri replied. It was their off day after all and he thinks he deserves some rolling about.
“Okay then. Guess I'll fight some zombies before that.” Yuri sighed and rolled his eyes, he has completely lost hope in Yamada when it comes to electronics. They both said bye, goodnight and then hung up the phone.
It took 2 rings on the bell and Yamada was already unlocking the door, his eyes sparkling like he saw the hope of his life.
“Come on!” He said and was already pushing Yuri in the moment he got his shoes off, leaving them removed messily at the door step.
“Okay okay, calm down already,” Yuri mumbled and threw his bag over on the sofa as he get ushered to Yamada’s desktop in his living room. The screen on the tv reflected a paused game, where a zombie was about to attack and the player was in between choosing a rifle and a shotgun.
Yuri moved the mouse and the desktop screen lit up to life. He had tried, countless times, to teach Yamada through the phone how to connect back to the online game server. He was patient and he did it step by step, but somehow, it seems like Yamada and computer doesn't click. Let's not mention Yamada and Internet. So, after Yamada’s countless calls of “help me!” and “I don't know what you're saying…” Yuri decided that he should leave the comfort of his house and head over to help him directly instead.
“You're the best!” Yamada said cheerfully as he pat his shoulder and beamed at him before leaving to the kitchen to pour some drink for Yuri.
“Yeah yeah, of course I'm the best,” Yuri mumbled to himself, out of Yamada’s earshot and started reconnecting the server. He was about done when Yamada came back with a cup of his favourite soda.
“You did it?! Already?!”
Yamada placed the cup down and leaned over to login to the game server.
“Chinen! You're a genius!” Yamada exclaimed as he excitedly click through the menu for new messages.
Yuri rolled his eyes, unnoticed by Yamada and sighed. “Told you it was easy…”
“Hmm mhmm,” was the only reply he got as Yamada happily type away on the keyboard to reply his recent request.
3.
“Can you bring a bag over just in case?”
Yamada’s voice sounded distant over the phone as they spoke over speaker mode and Yuri could faintly hear the rummaging of things in the background.
“Yeah sure.”
“Okay~ See you then!”
“Bye”
“Night”
Yuri hung up and went back to attacking the little monsters that keep appearing on the screen. On a side window, he typed a message to Hikaru before turning the game off. It was already past midnight, it's time for bed.
Yuri turned up at Yamada’s apartment in the afternoon the next day, an empty sports bag slung across his shoulder.
“Ojamashimasu~” He softly whispered as he removed his shoes and followed Yamada straight into his room.
It was a mess. Yamada had piles of clothes thrown across the floor, some placed on his bed and random accessories lying around on the table.
“I put the ones you might want in the pile over there, pick those you like,” Yamada said as he pointed to the pile he left in the corner beside his bed before going back to his closet and continued to pull clothes out.
Yuri nodded and took care to avoid stepping on those clothes spread around the room. Good thing he has good athletic skills or he would've fallen or trip over the hem of some cloth already.
He was pulling apart shirt after shirts when he had Yamada calling him in a distant.
“Hmm?” He replied as he continued to put aside those that he think would be something he would wear.
“Chinen~”
He was about to turn around, feeling Yamada approaching him when a pair of arms enveloped him from behind, surprising him.
“Here, take this,” Yamada whispered, his breath centimeters away from Yuri’s left ear as he latch on the necklace catch.
Yuri looked down to find the familiar cross necklace lying on his neck and reached up to touch it unconsciously.
What was that?
Yamada totally took him by surprise and Yuri found himself blushing as his face grew warmer with his heart hammering loudly in his ears.
All reaction unknown to Yamada as he nonchalantly went back to sorting his accessories.
