I'm back from Spain and...what? I missed an earthquake and Jorge Posada playing second base? Wow.
But I did come back in time for HURRICANE OF DOOM ONOEZ! My flight back on Friday was actually overbooked, which meant that we possibly had to stay one more day, then fly from Madrid or connect through Paris instead of directly from Malaga. However, all major airports in NYC are closed for the weekend, and I have to return to work on Monday. So...here I am.
I do feel bad for the Spanish tourists on the plane with us. Hi, welcome to New York! We're closed! Have fun!
Anyway, Spain was fun and hot and beautiful and hot and fascinating and also hot. Very hot. One-hundred-plus in Granada and Seville. No humidity, the sun is that strong.
Reason for the trip was my very good friend since junior high moved to Madrid to live with her boyfriend of six months. He's German but lives and works in Spain as an engineer/contractor. We can cross our fingers for a return trip to Madrid for engagement/wedding.
