Summerland: Round Two

Oct 02, 2006 18:33

This past weekend, I took another drive out to Summerland to see Kat at her place there. It was planned months ago to coincide with both her second cousin's birthday and my last day at work. Alas, I am still employed at Shell (only until Oct 30) and the extended family that was due out for said birthday party actually went to Calgary instead, so the entire weekend was there for just Kat and I.

The weather was gorgeous. I love the Okanagan Valley for his Californian climate, and it was no different this past weekend, still with highs of 25 degrees. We even took a dip in the lake - only up to our knees, though - and it wasn't so bad.

What else did we do? Watched movies (Jackass 2 in a Penticton, and a whole lot of my Saving Private Brian films on tape), ate a whole bunch (Kat loves to cook - and thankfully she's good at it, too!), snuggled a bunch more (oh yes), went for moonlit drives and hikes, and went shopping for my mom's birthday (which was on Sunday).

Now, I don't think I'd ever really want to LIVE in this part of the world - yet - because I prefer the big city too much. But damn, it's a relaxing place. I love it and I love her more. :)

I just wish I didn't have to make a four hour drive every time - at least not alone! I could use Kat's sexy charm to potentially get out of speeding tickets!
