When life seems futile, drink my lady, drink

Last night was the first Friday night in foreverdom I have stayed home - wow! My liver actually seems to be alive. Have been not-quite-continuously drinking for the last couple of weeks, v bad but v fun. Sadly, Mark our resident-british-whinging-pom returned unto where he came from on Thursday and with him our disgustingly drunken nights (for now). This is purely because of our "Oh we have to take Mark out, he's only got x number of weeks left" excuse. We have many of those excuse things.

So Mr 2007, how shall we meet? and when and where and with sealing wax and other some such things? I am going camping to The Basin for New Years with the Jollyjuice crew, I expect it to be a nice and jolly night too.

I am preparing myself for the ultimate weekend before Christmas shop and dreading it, but previous weekends have been filled with social occasions, a long lunch that took a whole day at Mel's, baking cookies with my mother and going to book club (we discussed We Need to Talk About Kevin) followed up directly by drinking at the Blues Pt Hotel. Fiona's birthday dinner was somewhere in it, the work christmas party, seeing Casino Royale (phwoaaar) and Pan's Labyrinth - creepy, beautiful and sad, and in spanish.

And in rather wonderful news, I will no longer be a marketing assistant at Harper - I am going up to Publishing in late Jan - and am very happy and I suppose a little proud too :-).

Merry Christmas everyone.
