I dont really have anything to say. I know i said i wouldnt write any entries without anything to say, but i really dont have much going on in my brainz today and i had to post that quote.
Actually, no i do have a kind of followup to my anti-sub entry. I went to davids on sunday to play poker, and mil and his friend RJ happened to be there. Well we're playing for awhile then somebody brings up that RJ's last name is Barsa. That lead someone to ask, "is your mom a substitute teacher?" Oh how thrilled i was when his response was yes. Well i quickly exclaimed(cool and calm...) "DONT READ MY LIVEJOURNAL!" He asked why and i told him his mom had ruined 2 periods of my life. He didnt really care and we continued as we were. That really is the most anti clamactic story of my life, but i thought it was funny.
OH. Angry rant time. Mr. Silver. What a guy. We have been watching this movie on the like of F. Scott Fitzgerald because we're going to be reading The Great Gatsby next. He also decided we are going to have a quiz on it. Thats no big deal, its normal for him to be sure we are actually watching the movie. I have no problem with the movie or the quiz at all until we reach the part in the movie where it reaches the great gatsby. The story relates to his life...thats cool i guess...they made it into a movie...thats cool too...BOOM THE ENDING TO THE MOVIE AND BOOK WAS BEING SHOWN! What the fuck?! One of the most famous books in American history is what we were about to read, and he ruins the ending before he even hands it out. He has absolutely no consideration for the actual reading of literature. Isnt that what English is all about? Are we not supposed to be exposed to these works of such tremendous esteem to want to read more and learn more about the english language or persue literature further? I see no point to reading a novel other than to appreciate the story. How can you appreciate the story when you already know the ending? He thinks hes the man with his big words and deep insights to books he got from somewhere else. But no, all he does is confuse us and ruins books. The same thing happened in english last year. Mrs. McNicholas(who has many other colorful nicknames that creatively came up with if youve read entries from last year) showed us the movie of To Kill a Mockingbird, one of my favorite books of all time, before we read it. All of the people who didnt want to read the book were thrilled, they now didnt have to read it and could pass the test. I, however, had been looking forward to reading this book and was not happy when the movie ruined it for me. Well now Mr. Silver is on the same path of evil. Most people ive talked to loathed The Great Gatsby, but most of them hated Huckleberry Finn and i loved that. I think people just dont want to read books that could be enjoyable if we werent forced to read for school. OH i forgot something. Silver also laughed when i pretty much exploded on the fact that he had ruined another book/story(last of the mohecans, asshole) and said "the book doesnt end that way" with a smirk. Smartass prick. He probably hates me too, considering ive actually yelled at him twice in the same week for ruining books and movies. He has earned every damn comment from me, and will continue to earn harsh critisism until he learns how to teach an english class. /end rant
so i did find something to write. break is in 2 days, and i cannot wait for my extra day of freedom. It might be more that i dont have school on friday instead of having the day off. The important thing for me is a break from learning, teachers, forced social contact, and just the irritating people that shit on my day. We havent had a day off since february break, which was 2 months ago. I feel like ive earned a bit of time to clear my head and do absolutely nothing. We all have. I would be perfectly satisfied with sleeping from 12 am to 12am saturday. It may not be fun but damn it would feel good. Idk where im going with that. The point is we have the day off and i plan to appreciate it. No dball for my favorite strange preferenced dykes :) It'll be a good day or it best be.
