This isn't my first tutorial here at timepanic, but I deleted the others because the images (also) don't work probably anymore. Eventually I'll take them online again.
So okay. Today we try to get this effect here:

Okay, we begin with our base.
I didn't do anything with it, but that'll change soon. Duplicate the base and sharpen the second layer. Then you change the opacity to 53%. With this trick it won't get oversharpend.
Then you open a new layer and fill it with #04162e, set it to Exclusion, 100%.
After you did this, you duplicate your base once again and take it at the top of your icon. Set it to Screen, 41%
So now you make a new Selective Colouring Layer. Fill in the following settings:
reds -99; 16; 81; 0
yellows -100; 16; 50; 12
magentas -75; -32; +73; 31
whites 35; -3; 5; 5
neutrals 11; 11 ; 10; -6
Yay, the icon looks so much prettier now; but we haven't finished it yet.
Another Selective Colouring layer :]
reds -7; 9; 20; 0
yellows -54; 24; 31; 7
magentas -2; -55; -1; 0
neutrals 10; 1; -6; 0
And you're done. This is a nice but very simple colouring :) Hope you like it! So, there's no need to credit, but I would love to read if you liked it and what you came up with. x)
