She was wearing her summer dress again, and he couldn't help but notice how nice she looked in it. Then again, Aerith probably had the knack to make a garbage bag look attractive on her, he thought fondly.
"The beach would have to be completely frozen over before I'd never be ready," Zack announced cheerfully before offering his arm to Aerith out of habit, "Is the lady ready for a day of fun and smoothie goodness herself?"

"Of course she is," she replied happily, grasping onto his arm without even a moment's hesitation. Curiosity had her hip lightly bumping up against him to keep his attention as she asked, "How was your night? Did you have fun? Did you get sick?"

Her small hip bump drew his attention back as they made their way out of the inn. Zack's expression was one of pure innocence as he smiled. "It was a great night," He admitted. Zack purposefully left it short, not just to tease her, but because it was probably best she didn't know what they'd gotten up to. Glancing down at Aerith, he winked flirtatiously, "And I'm as fit as a fiddle. It's one advantage of being SOLDIER - any hangovers don't last for long at all."
Returning the gentle gesture, Zack playfully tapped his hip back against her's as he asked, "And how about your night? Keep yourself out of any mischief?"

A great night? Well... vague indeed, but his innocence didn't fool her. Cloud admitted he went a little wild when drunk, and she had a feeling Zack wasn't much better. "If you got Cloud in a dress again, I hope you took pictures," she murmured casually, catching herself smiling as he winked. "Good, because you're gonna need diligence for the ocean! Otherwise you might get swallowed up," Of course she was only teasing but... then again she wasn't. She really needed to get over silly fears that developed in the Slums in gossip.
Her lips twitched into a small smirk as she leaned her head back to regard him, "It was a great night," she ( ... )

Zack still had every intention of keeping what had happened between 'the boys', but he found himself entirely distracted by Aerith's sudden casual comment, "Spike dressed in drag?" He asked with wide eyes, "If he did I hope that you took photos of that." There was a snicker in his voice as he said that, before he reached over to comfortingly pat the top of her hand as he smiled at her, "Oh I think I've got just enough diligence for that."
Her laugh only seemed to keep the fond smile on his lips before he shook his head in amusement, "I never had any doubt," He murmured happily, "I'm just glad to hear that you both had a great night."

Zack had seen Cloud in just about everything but a dress, but he still found himself highly amused at the thought. Cloud had the right feminine aspects to his features to pull it off. There was no way he could have. He whistled at the thought before glancing down at Aerith in amusement, "Should I take a wild stab in the dark and suggest that you were the one who put him up to it ( ... )

A little bit of complaining never hurt anyone, but he was glad that Aerith finally managed to get out of the slums and see more of the world. It was something he had wanted to do with her, but there simply hadn't been enough time. "I'm really glad to hear that you got to head out and travel," He murmured happily as they finally approached the beach.
There were a few more people out here than there were before, and he found that he couldn't help but agree with Aerith's assessment. "The beach is good for that," He said in full agreement. Glancing down, he smiled encouragingly at Aerith as he asked, "So ready for that dip?"

"Well...you said the mountains were as tall as the sky," she eyed him with feigned wariness. "I saw the peaks, mister!"
She laughed in delight as he joined her pace, dropping the jog into a walk towards the sea. "Right! We've gotta grab life by the reigns, you know!" She turned back to the shore, and boldly began stepping into the water. It was chilly, but not unpleasantly so. Aerith glanced to Zack, and squeezed his hand a little, "Just... don't stray away, okay?"

There was a sense of pride seeing Aerith so boldly walking into the water as if she'd done it hundreds of times before. People may have been dazzled by his smile from time to time, but Zack always found his breath taken away by Aerith's complete spark of life. It had been what had originally drawn her to him, outside of the fall of course, and once he'd noticed it, the SOLDIER had been unable to keep away.
"You know I'd never leave your side, Aerith." Zack warmly murmured as he walked further into the cool water with her. Moving to step around, the SOLDIER reached down to take hold of her other hand as he asked, "So how about we try seeing how you go with swimming? That way you can surprise Spike the next time you see him."

The contact didn't last for long and as soon as she grasped his hand in return, the SOLDIER began to move them deeper into the waters. He only went so far that it would cover up to Aerith's shoulders. Zack didn't want her getting overwhelmed at all.
"The first thing about learning how to swim is to have trust in your partner. So forget about the water and the waves, and just focus all of your attention on me," Zack announced as he kept his hold on her hands. He knew there would be no problem in that regard, but he simply had to wait until she felt comfortable enough to begin teaching her how to swim. "Do you trust me enough to do that, Aerith
