Characters: Cloud and Tifa Progress: Complete Summary: Cloud and Tifa arrive in Alexandria. Will there be room at the inn? Location: Alexandria Date: June, 1803 Warnings: None
It had taken a lot of self control to keep himself from getting angry at the guards when they'd suggested he'd go about murdering people with his swords. Sure the Buster Sword was big and sure the other one was sharp but he wasn't even slightly a madman. A little strange, but not crazy.
When Tifa grabbed his hand, Cloud had already decided to put an arm around her, keeping her close and in front of him as they walked. He wasn't going to let anyone get their hands on her.
"It's really busy, yeah... we could check the inns but I figure we might not be able to find anywhere. If we don't I guess we'll have to weigh our options out then.."
Tifa stayed close to him as she led Cloud through the streets. She'd been here before; even though it was different, she thought she could find the way.
"The inn I stayed at before isn't far... It's pretty big too."
They might as well check, she thought. Meanwhile, the vendors were trying to attract them to their wares, and a delicious smell of cooking wafted from somewhere. The festival hadn't officially begun yet, but it seemed like things were almost ready.
Cloud would discreetly nudge and elbow people out of their way, his muscled arms tensed as he kept hold of Tifa, a hand remaining firmly on her waist.
"Alright. We'll check out that place then." He was swift to guard her through the crowds as she led the way to the inn, but Cloud was beginning to feel a little claustrophobic all smushed up with everyone else.
Maybe that was why he had such spiky hair; it gave the illusion of a couple more inches. As they headed up the street towards the main square, a trumpet sounded and they were herded unceremoniously out of the way with everyone else as a group of nobles walked past them. Tifa found herself squashed against Cloud, with a small hippo boy almost tripping over her feet as he craned his neck to get a glimpse of the nobles.
"They make it pretty clear who's at the top of the pile," she murmured.

He wasn't the tallest of men, after all...
