Firion knew this place and Terra was the strongest of the three by far. The Onion Knight moved fairly seamlessly into the role of keeping track of medicine and keeping watch for monsters.

"...Firion, are there traps in this place?"

Terra's hand rested on her sword hilt; though she used her magic a great deal more, the gesture kept her grounded and alert. Now that they were on-site, her brooding was replaced by extreme focus. She couldn't afford to fail them, or Edgar.

Upon hearing the Onion Knight's question, she glanced inquiringly at Firion. This was his area of expertise, after all. She wanted to be ready for any possibility.

The boy nodded. He'd expected that. The Pandaemonium that he recalled - the one that they'd traversed to face the emperor after Cosmos' fall - had had a trapped floor. This one was different, though, it's corridors more narrow and winding. Evading any traps might prove difficult, especially if they were forced to fight monsters at the same time ( ... )

That prompted a quick nod from Terra. She didn't need -or remember- that ability while in the Void, but was suddenly grateful that the wider range of her abilities was open to her in Gaia. Anything that would help them reach Edgar was welcome, at this point.

"Yes, I can. It won't last forever, but it's no trouble to renew it." Eager to contribute, Terra wasted no time in casting Float upon them all. She rose into the air a bit, able to keep walking forward but able to avoid ground traps now, at least.

The first thing the Onion Knight had done upon learning that this world had unfamiliar magic was to find out what it was and how it did and what it could be used for. He was a studious boy, if nothing else, and for once it seemed to have paid off.

He followed carefully, eyes darting to any imperfection in the walls or floors, anything that might possibly by a trigger mechanism.

Oh course, there was no overt trigger mechanism. It was all magic. He recognized the sense of a rush of approaching magic not a second too soon, leaping back out of the path of one rising spike but right into the path of a second that he'd failed to sense.

"Look ou-!" His warning was cut off as the spike tossed him further upward.

Upon hearing him, Terra whirled around, horrified. "No-!" She leaped up, trying to catch hold of him and help bring him back down.

"Are you hurt??" Of course, the first thing she did was look him over anyway. If he needed any healing, he was getting it and no argument would change her mind.

Luckily, being some way off the ground meant the spike hadn't thrown him upward with all the force that it might have. He nodded, recovering from the shock and getting his breath back.

"F-fine."

Terra nodded to Firion, letting out a breath she didn't know she was holding upon reaching him again. "We have to be careful...and not linger here. Even with the Float spell, it seems we still have to be on our toes. Firion....?"

She glanced to him, ready to move on with his guidance.
