During the flight over / Q&A / meeting, whatever magitekrune February 22 2011, 19:05:28 UTC
Mingling was encouraged as far as Celes was concerned. She just didn't do a whole lot of it. Still, she was open to questions from her new companions and didn't want anyone to go into this without knowing what they were up against. Anyone who wanted to talk to her was more than welcome to do so.

[ooc: I figure this can be the general mingling before the battle, talk out your nerves thread. Feel free to make other subthreads under this one for other talks between people!]

Terra herself wasn't very talkative. Her mind was really only on one thing; retrieving Edgar as soon as possible. To that end, she listened to the questions and responses, committing necessary information to memory. Otherwise she was, at best, only half-there. Her mind kept going to what Edgar must be experiencing, what Lufene was putting him through in order to get her information. Such a train of thought left her quiet and pale, checking and re-checking supplies without really noticing any of it.

"...you're counting them again? They're not gonna walk off while you're not looking, you know."

The onion knight was keeping watch over Terra still. He took a sheet of paper and handed it to Terra.

"This is how we were for supplies when we took inventory an hour ago. Nothing'll have vanished since then."

Terra stared at the supply list for a moment before his words sunk in. Glancing up, she managed a quirk of the lips that tried to be a smile but wasn't quite. "I'm sorry. I'm sure you did it right before. I...just need something to do. It's hard to wait."

Even knowing that they were getting closer to Pandemonium with every moment wasn't quite enough.

The boy was a little too practical, too detached, to fully understand that. The few times he recalled feeling the way Terra must feel, there'd been no waiting involved. He'd sprinted the entire way to face the cloud of darkness as soon as he's resolved that he could. And there'd been no waiting after Cosmos' fall. There hadn't been time for it.

But he was trying. He looked over his lists again and sighed.

"...I might have made a mistake with the potions. There were a whole lot after so many people donated medicine for the mission, I might have lost count." He hadn't, of course, but he couldn't think of anything else to say to help. Hopefully they had enough potions for tallying them to last the whole journey. If they didn't, imagined mistakes could pad the time. "Let's double check those."

Terra nodded, relieved at being given something to do. She didn't care how many times they were counted before, as long as she didn't have to sit still and think about what was happening at Pandemonium. Though before she gave in to further counting, the young woman closed in and slipped her arms around him in a gentle hug.

"Thank you for being here. That means...more than I can say."

The onion knight froze for a second and then wrapped his arms carefully around Terra's waist.

"It's gonna be fine. Celes knows what she's talking about, we're all strong- we'll get him back."

Terra tried to speak up, but she couldn't past the lump in her throat. So, she responded with a gentle squeeze until she could manage. "You're right. There's many of us, and Firion knows what he's doing. He'll guide us."

And sometimes words just weren't needed. Tidus wasn't... the best at comforting people, not that he didn't try but words kind of failed him sometimes. So when he found Terra obsessively rummaging through her supplies, he just walked over and put an arm around her shoulder.

"Hey - we're gonna do this, okay? We got rid of Chaos, didn't we?"

Terra jumped a little, not having heard his approach. Her mind had been very much elsewhere, and would be until they landed. She opened her mouth for an automatic 'I'm fine' response, but paused as his words sunk in.

"We did. I just...need this to be over. I can't think about anything else."

"Yeah, I know how that feels." Considering Tidus spent a fair portion of his time after Yuna disappeared in a suspended dream state Rinoa created for him where she was still there... he definitely understood.

"She can't stand against all of us, though. We've got good people here. We're gonna do it."

Terra took a deep breath and nodded to that. "...do you think it was a good idea, to wait?" Not that she had a choice in the matter, thanks to Celes, but she had to know.

Of course Terra had to ask that of the one of their company that failed at waiting abysmally. Tidus knew well that he... well... had issues with that, considering he'd thrown himself at no less than five highly dangerous enemies over the course of both his journeys without thinking. Still...

"...Probably, yeah. Considering I'd've wanted to go running after her right off the bat? Probably better to do what I didn't think of."

A half-smile formed at that and Terra shrugged a little. "I almost did. Normally I might have waited, but...knowing Edgar was at her mercy, it was just too much."

"Yeah, I know. I'd do the same thing with Yuna, any day of the week." And Terra needed an extra hug for that, and this time it's a proper hug. She just looked so sad... "We're gonna get him back. This is gonna work."

The hug is definitely needed. Terra clings to him, needing that reassurance for all that she didn't ask for it aloud. She listens to him, though can't bring herself to speak for a moment. When she does, her voice wavers a little. "...I believe you. Would that we could defeat her for good, but right now, all I want is to get Edgar and escape from that horrible place."
