Once the lunch crowd cleared up, Raine finished washing up the dishes and shut the tavern until later in the day. The locals didn't care much for the change in schedule from the previous proprietor, but with her delicate condition, she needed the rest in the afternoon. As she entered the house, she noted that Laguna had cleared the garden of the dead creature dropped in it, but not the one now sitting in the front yard. She sighed and shook her head.

"Laguna! I'm home." Silence. That was certainly unusual, especially with Laguna in the house. Getting him to sit still and not break something was like asking the sun not to set. "Laguna?"

She continued through the house, wondering if he might have stepped out and not come by the tavern to tell her. If so, she'd have a few choice words for him when he got back. While she waited, she would put on some tea then have a nap and...

He was passed out on her kitchen floor.

"Laguna!" Raine rushed to his side and knelt beside him, looking for a clue what was wrong with him or any sign of an accident. Nothing. "Laguna! Please..."

Feel free to skip me whenever. She's not going to do much winhillstime August 20 2010, 14:04:58 UTC
Ellone knew going into this whole thing that she was going to owe people a huge explanation and apology once everything was said and done. But at the moment, she was panicking. The very first person she thought to use her power on was Uncle Laguna and there was no time to explain what was going on to anyone.

But for now, she was under her favorite tree outside the village, waiting to see what would happen and if this would be the one to break whatever else was going on here.

No matter how much Raine shook, poked, or prodded him, Laguna didn't awaken. He couldn't. In his mind's eyes, he was in Balamb Garden, but he couldn't move himself. It was like his body wouldn't listen to him! Then, he noticed how short he was.

Was he in someone else's body? Laguna couldn't tell. But all he could do was sit back and watch as the person made their way through the Garden, watching the SeeD's play basketball and other menial activities. However, it was the scene of two teenagers in the beginning of having sex that really threw him. Why were they doing that in public?! Okay, it was obvious the area was secluded but didn't the Garden have rooms for that?! It seems the body he was in thought the same thing because they tried to look for a way out.

And then they Jumped. Well, Laguna guessed he wasn't the only Dragoon around but he didn't know there was a SeeD who did that. How interesting. The person who eye's he was occupying seemed intent on looking for a way out, though obviously looked down to stare a couple times. He did not need to see this! And finally, they jumped down and left. Everything went black then and suddenly, he felt the weird sensation of waking up.

Did he fall asleep? No, wait, he was on hardwood floor. He wouldn't fall asleep there. Slowly, he pried his eyes open.

Raine felt a jumbled array of emotions all competing for the top spot. Terror that he'd gone and died on her, anger because she just knew he had to have been doing something reckless or irresponsible again. Fear drove her to try harder to rouse him. "Laguna, you can't leave me again! Wake up!"

Only once his eyes began to open did she think to let out the breath she'd been holding. She ran a hand along the side of his face, grateful to see signs of wakefulness in him. Too grateful to scold or nag him. For now.

"Laguna? Can you hear me?"

It took him a moment to register that Raine had been calling to him as he looked about the kitchen. How did he get here? Oh wait, didn't he get dizzy before...?

Laguna turned his face and blinked up at Raine. "Yeah, I can hear you," He said softly, brows furrowed. "...uh, what happened?"

"I hoped you could tell me." Her hands ran over Laguna looking for injuries. Nothing out of the ordinary. "I came in and found you on the floor. Did you break anything?" No, she didn't say if she meant her kitchen or his body. Either way, broken was broken.

Laguna was still trying to wake up and he looked around the kitchen. No, nothing broken in here and his body was a little bruised from the fall but he was fine too. "No, I'm okay. Tired, I think. Had a really weird dream too."

He reached up to rub his eyes, he needed coffee or something. He wasn't normally this tired!
