The wind was already strong even at this distance. The walls of the valley were high and the wind ripped through it with incredible ferocity. The last time Steiner had been here, Vivi had had to stay behind him to avoid being literally blown away.

Heavy armour was a great advantage in this shrine. And determination too: they would have to fight the tornado every step of the way.

Steiner began struggling forward. "It isn't as far as it seems!" he shouted. "Let us hurry!"

The strength of this wind would prove challenging even for Kain, but he was ready to take it on. Like Steiner, he had the advantage of being armored, and his skills as a dragoon should help him tremendously.

He nodded agreement. "Let's go." Although he still had reservations about this whole thing... he had already promised to assist. He just wasn't so sure that he wanted the expected outcome. To return home... Months ago, it would have been all he wanted. Now, that had all changed.

Kain tightened grip on his spear as he started moving against the powerful winds.

It would appear it was a good thing he had gone through the effort required to obtain armor which fit him and didn't obstruct his movements over much. He could imagine just what this wind could do to unprotected skin if exposed for too long.

Following the other two men before him, the General also held reservations about the efforts being taken currently. He understood their need, which was part of why he'd volunteered his services to aid in this manner. His reservations lay in the simple fact that if their efforts did succeed and things were reverted back to their respective places...

Well, considering all he had learned here, it would be obvious to state he had no desire to return to that forestalled destiny.

Still, regardless of his personal feelings, it behooved him to help make certain they succeeded in their mission here.

They fought against the wind, and slowly, surely, step by step, they were winning. The dark mouth of the shrine loomed before them. The wind turned into a howl, almost like a dragon's roar waiting to greet them.

Grimly, Steiner soldiered on. He raised his sword as he entered the shrine. And there, exactly as he remembered, the great dragon hovered. The Wind Shrine's guardian, Tiamat. A huge scaly creature, but despite his size, the dragon was surprisingly nimble.

Tiamat rose up on his hind legs and snarled at them. "So, you have come to try your luck again. I'll drive you out like roaches!"
