Projects for 2009

Jan 17, 2009 13:28

I have several projects I'd like to complete in 2009. I'm not sure how much I'll get complete, but I'm gonna try.

  • Pay off the rest of my credit card debt (deadline scheduled for August)
  • Move  hay shed to block view of neighbors
  • On hay shed, build a wood facade out of used fence boards
  • Expand chicken housing area
  • Plant bamboo/willow to block view of neighbors and keep neighbors dogs out of pasture
  • Expand vegetable bed
  • Level back pasture and raise floor in barn
  • Finish tack room in barn
  • Turn old shed into greenhouse
  • Build spice rack cabinet
  • Fix house roof
  • Improve drainage around house, including run-off issue from neighbor
Many of these issues are due to strained relations with my neighbors, whom I call The Burners. They lie, cheat, and steal, and I have proof of all three. I've tried for a year to be diplomatic, but I can't do it anymore.

ETA: 10/09 - just an update, updates in red

  • Pay off the rest of my credit card debt (deadline scheduled for August) (sadly extended to the end of the year?)
  • Move  hay shed to block view of neighbors (done!)
  • On hay shed, build a wood facade out of used fence boards (project scrapped)
  • Expand chicken housing area (dog house coop built; still need run; still need to connect original run to the shed that is now next to it)
  • Plant bamboo/willow to block view of neighbors and keep neighbors dogs out of pasture (project delayed; neighbors are moving, will they take the bright lights with them?)
  • Expand vegetable bed (done - making it any larger will be too much for me to keep up)
  • Level back pasture and raise floor in barn (back pasture finished, barn floor still too low)
  • Finish tack room in barn (untouched)
  • Turn old shed into greenhouse (untouched)
  • Build spice rack cabinet (untouched, but I think I found a carpenter, just need the stained glass)
  • Fix house roof (done!)
  • Improve drainage around house, including run-off issue from neighbor (untouched)
