Ooooh. Cues evil cliffhanger music ... Dun dun DUUUUNNN!!! Lol sorry had to do that!
Good to see they are less hostile and joking around.
The transition with the gun scene and also the Raxa- I can't be bothered typing it scene was brilliant how their Jack came through a bit more!
The Doctor had to ask didn't he???

Yeah, cliffhangers are good ;) And, yes, they were getting less hostile... but then the Doctor had to put his great big foot in it, didn't he? Glad you liked the Raxicoricofallipatorious moment!

*whacks doctor over the head with a big stick, repeatedly* Stupid, stupid, stupid! Very much the kinda thing the doctor would do but after the fiasco in the consol room and the game station and, and well everything *whacks the doctor again* stupid! He can be about as perceptive as a brick sometimes.... or.... is this a test? hmmm...... *whacks the doctor again anyway* Don’t be mean! You're The Doctor, you're not meant to be mean, not if it can be avoided! *whack ( ... )

I like Jack, he is one of those characters that can and will give me these little nudges to get me to write fic (and not just because John very easy on the eyes - Jack has so much fic potential; time agency, lost memories, used to have a time ship, has been sentenced to death more than once, he's from the 51st century... the guys is fanfic gold!).

The fact that Jack is a bit of a Mary-Sue also helps the fanfic urge. *grin* Witty, charming, good-looking, can pull just about anyone, genius, tech wizard, heroic, just a dash of darkness courtesy of the Time Agency and his missing two years to spice things up...all around just about the perfect character. The show really didn't show him in any bad light.

Hmmm, hadn't thought of it like that... we have only seen him in five episodes so far though, not that much time to go delving into character flaws, esp considering he is a companion on the show, not the star.

Yes, you would think that but considering the quality and experience of the writers behind the show they are not going to write a perfect or even near perfect character, because in reality they just don’t exist. This is one of those things that had me thinking that what we have seen so far is just too good to be true - that there is something going on we are not really aware of. That is what fascinates me most, that we don’t really know that much about him yet. Yeah he mentioned the time agency and his two missing years... and? Where did he come from before that? Was there anything before that? ( ... )

I really wish we'd had more episodes to get to know him. There's that whole emotional development that we missed between 'Doctor Dances' and 'Boomtown'. Where Rose and the Doctor learned to trust/accept him and Jack made the transition from conman to best friend and hero. I'd love to have seen what made the Doctor come around and stop being jealous of Jack with Rose. All of those little things that are just taken as read between those two eps.

So yeah, can't wait for Torchwood...Me either! Is it bad that I may be looking forward to it a tiny bit more than I am the second series of DW? But of course, I'm looking forward to Jack's ( ... )

Really wonderful chapter, the TARDIS team as we might see it in the future perhaps? You capture all three brilliantly and make their conversations so believable, how Jack thaws towards the Doctor and how the Doctor treats him too. I'm hooked, keep it up :- )

Thank you! And, yeah, I'd love to think that the three of them might be together again in the TARDIS. But I don't know whether RTD intends Jack to be Earthbound when he returns... Who knows?

Just a little note to say I'm really enjoying reading your story. I also read Earth to Ashes and found that to be a great companion peice to The Parting of the Ways.
