PS. I like Jack, he is one of those characters that can and will give me these little nudges to get me to write fic (and not just because John very easy on the eyes - Jack has so much fic potential; time agency, lost memories, used to have a time ship, has been sentenced to death more than once, he’s from the 51st century... the guys is fanfic gold!). However when he is not encouraging me with my own fanfic he demands that I read other fic featuring his own gorgeous self, hence I am all but glued to my computer waiting for the next part of this. Keep up the updates, please! He will drive me mad if you don't!

The fact that Jack is a bit of a Mary-Sue also helps the fanfic urge. *grin* Witty, charming, good-looking, can pull just about anyone, genius, tech wizard, heroic, just a dash of darkness courtesy of the Time Agency and his missing two years to spice things up...all around just about the perfect character. The show really didn't show him in any bad light.

Yes, you would think that but considering the quality and experience of the writers behind the show they are not going to write a perfect or even near perfect character, because in reality they just don’t exist. This is one of those things that had me thinking that what we have seen so far is just too good to be true - that there is something going on we are not really aware of. That is what fascinates me most, that we don’t really know that much about him yet. Yeah he mentioned the time agency and his two missing years... and? Where did he come from before that? Was there anything before that? Where has he been and what has he done?
So yeah, can't wait for Torchwood... and if they only show it on BBC3 with no repeats on BBC2 or whatever, I think I'm going to cry....

I really wish we'd had more episodes to get to know him. There's that whole emotional development that we missed between 'Doctor Dances' and 'Boomtown'. Where Rose and the Doctor learned to trust/accept him and Jack made the transition from conman to best friend and hero. I'd love to have seen what made the Doctor come around and stop being jealous of Jack with Rose. All of those little things that are just taken as read between those two eps.

Me either! Is it bad that I may be looking forward to it a tiny bit more than I am the second series of DW? But of course, I'm looking forward to Jack's return to DW even more!

Hehehe, yep *raises hand* guilty. Must admit I really like the idea of a more adult show set in the same verse as Doctor Who. Not that I don’t love Doctor Who to pieces and cant wait for the next series, its just the idea of an 'adult' show - staring Captain Jack no less - makes me grin like an absolute maniac who has been given a lovely naughty present.

Hell yeah! The developments between the end of The Doctor Dances - the doctors 'toe the line, watch your step and you might not get left on a space station somewhere' subtext with Jack - to Boom Towns mutual flirting and comradery, not to mention the doctor being comfortable with letting Jack work on his beloved Tardis (*gasp!*)... that kind of change doesn't happen over night.... Gha! Why couldn't it have been 26 episodes instead of 13?!

And I'm so glad you think the Doctor's lapse into issuing orders is convincing :)) Yup, not all that perceptive. He really needs to think about exactly what he wants here, doesn't he?
Yes, don't worry - next part is coming very soon! And I should be able to keep posting daily. Currently writing chapter 9!
